Typical Daily Missions Schedule
The Mission Trip will take place January 23, 2020 – Feb. 3, 2020 to build closer ties and partnerships with the church and ministry in Ghana (under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Joseph Quainoo, a Church of God ordained Pastor and Missionary to Ghana). The overall purpose of the mission effort established by Bishop Dr. Joseph Quainoo is: 1. Church Planting & raising up Leaders/pastors for the young assemblies; 2. Anyii Bible Translation (ABT); and 3. Education & Medical Missions. The goal of the mission trip is to support this effort, worship and pray with the Church in Ghana, and reach out to the people in their communities. The mission trip may include Leadership Training; conducting a medical clinic; distribution of clothes and food or other evangelistic/outreach efforts; preaching the gospel; teaching; children ministry (e.g VBS); and construction work on needed enhancements for Church buildings in Enchi, New Yakasi & Sewum. The building at Enchi will also serve as the Headquarters in Anyii.

The cost for airfare DCA to Ghana can range from $1000 - $1500 per person (includes $100 non-refundable deposit). Please note that the sooner you book the travel, the more cost savings for the air travel.
A giving form is available to enable you to be sponsored by people you know. Some people attending a Mission Trip have had their entire trip financially covered through their own efforts in obtaining sponsorships.
Will There Be Any other Expenses? You will also be responsible for costs associated with obtaining a VISA, immunization, Offerings (e.g. Church services), personal souvenirs, personal supplies, solicitation of passport, travel insurance, lunch, any medication or supplies, etc. These expenses are not included in the cost.
We require the travel insurance basic 1 trip plan of $29 (Faith Ventures) to be purchased through Brotherhood Mutual. You can purchase this insurance by going to the website of faithventures.com or call at 1-800-876-4994. Trip cancellation/interruption coverage is offered as an optional additional coverage. The additional premium cost for this coverage is 4% of your non-refundable trip cost. For example, if you choose to insure $1000 of your trip cost, Trip Cancellation will cost an additional $40.

It’s O.K. The major language spoken in Ghana is English, and when needed there will be translators with the group.
The goal is for each team to raise $15,000 to assist with the mission purpose listed above and to support Bishop Quainoo’s as a missionary on the mission field in Ghana. We are looking for the team to assist us in raising these funds. See the attached giving form.
YES, places & times to be determined. We will take full advantage of our media resources (tele/Videoconferencing, emails, etc.) in order to prepare you for the mission and ministry.

Yes, a passport and visa are needed. It is important to allow ample processing time.
For a PASSPORT, you can go to the following website for additional information on how and where to get a passport and the cost: http://travel.state.gov/passport . Your local Post-office will likely be able to process your Passport. Processing of your passport varies. (Some post offices require appointments.) The cost for a new passport with fees is $135 for adult and $105 for under 16. If you want to expedite the Passport service, it is an additional $60 in addition to cost for overnight mail service (Approximately $16). You will need to bring with you your birth certificate, driver’s license and social security card. You must also have a picture taken 2x2”. You can get your pictures taken at the Post Office, CVS, Walgreen, Wal-Mart, etc. (Price Varies e.g. $8-$15).
For a VISA, you can go to the following website for additional information on how and where to get a Visa and the cost: https://www.ghanaembassydc.org/visas. Single entry regular service is $60 for a visa. However, it is recommended that you allow the Ghana Mission Team to take care of this process for you. As a result, please mail a completed visa application along with your passport and final payment to the address listed in the section above: “How Do I Sign Up?” Your passport is required by the Embassy to obtain a Visa and it will be returned to you upon receipt of your Visa.
Yes. The following information is from the CDC website: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/clinician/none/ghana . The following vaccines may be recommended for your travel to Ghana. Discuss with a Travel Clinic (e.g. Passport Health--http://www.passporthealthusa.com/ 888-499-PASS (7277) to determine which vaccines you will need. Immunization is not usually covered under medical insurance. (This is an additional cost to you)

Two pieces of luggage and a carry on is allowed. The (2) pieces of luggage cannot weigh more than 50lbs each. We have “essential supplies” that need to be transported to the mission base. We ask that each traveler reserve at least 1 checked bag in order for these supplies to be brought in. For details on luggage: http://www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/baggage/index.jsp
It is recommended that you bring along Tylenol, Kaopectate or Imodium, Hydrocortisone cr 1%, Benadryl tabs, Insect repellant 50% (repel 100 or permethrine to spray on clothing, etc.), sunscreen, flash light, toiletries, disposable face washcloths (will be traveling and may not be able to wash hands), Hand sanitizer, etc. Recommend a money waist pouch to carry passport and monies with you at all times, including tissues. You should also bring money for purchase of water bottles to drink and to use to brush teeth. See Personal Needs List for more details.
Avoid eating any uncooked raw food such as salads and drinking the water. Only eat fruit washed and peeled, and drink bottled water.
It will be hot, so we should take light clothing and encourage everyone to wear a hat.
Women and Men-For Church, modest Sunday Church clothes (during service). We should leave jewelry home. The women should wear a long dress with a modest blouse. When working on construction projects-jeans and hard toe boots. When working in other capacities casual pants and polo shirts are fine.
Please follow the lead of the Lord. There will be opportunity to give as a group, although you are not required to give during these times.
